Emma Clarence


Emma Clarence is an Associate Director at Metro Dynamics where she undertakes social and economic research in cities and boroughs across the UK. Before joining Metro Dynamics, Emma was a Principal Researcher at Nesta focusing on public services and social innovation, and was a Policy Analyst at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development working in the Local Economic and Employment Development Programme on issues including social innovation and the social economy, and how to create jobs and tackle long-term unemployment. 

Prior to the OECD she was a researcher and lecturer at a number of UK universities researching public policy and teaching politics. Emma holds degrees from Macquarie University (Australia), Staffordshire University (UK), the University of Bologna (Italy) and the Open University (UK) in areas including history, politics, sociology, economics and literature.
