Senior Consultant - Regeneration and Delivery

Metro Dynamics is an independent consultancy that provides strategic advice to those who lead, do business or invest in local economies. We work with a range of clients including local government, Combined Authorities, national bodies, universities, and private sector investors and developers across the UK.

Metro Dynamics is an employee-owned business, demonstrating our commitment to independence and a strong social purpose. We are focused on increasing our positive impact on places and ensuring our work leads to meaningful economic change. All our staff have a financial stake in the business, alongside access to a range of benefits including a share of company profits.

The successful candidate could be based at either our Manchester or London office. There would also be a certain amount of travel around the UK to client meetings.

The Team

The role presents an opportunity to join a fast growing part of the MD offer.  Our team already possesses a depth of experience in physical regeneration across the UK with embedded skills in economic development, economic analysis, planning, real estate, programme management and delivery structures and is helping clients move their projects from concept to delivery.

We act across the project life cycle, supporting clients to reach the point of physical implementation.  We work with our clients to translate MD’s sector, innovation, policy and strategy expertise into tangible projects, and support clients in realising the potential of their places by defining the physical development and investment opportunities that exist,

As a result we engage across a range of delivery focussed projects and programmes, including site specific development propositions that unlock specific development opportunities, area-wide integrated delivery plans to support wider place-based regeneration and the establishment of investment portfolios to support the deployment of capital into impactful projects.

Regardless of the project our corporate DNA provides a golden thread, ensuring our place based expertise defines authentic and relevant propositions to the place we’re working, identifies the most effective delivery mechanisms that are tailored to the context and client needs, bolstering client side expertise and capacity by working collaboratively with them and articulating investment cases through meaningful impact assessment.

Our Work

Our project portfolio is diverse in terms of location and focus, a snapshot of recent projects includes:

  • Developing innovation led site specific proposition for a city centre brownfield asset on the South Coast

  • Identifying the development opportunity and delivery needs of a large port location industrial site in the North East

  • Establishing a delivery toolkit for housing estate regeneration in Central London

  • Providing nation-wide advice to a major investment fund on place-specific investment opportunities

  • Establishing the case for the establishment of a new locally led development corporation in Central London

  • Articulating the vision for a market town in the north west and developing an intervention plan to secure its long-term vitality

  • Preparing an ‘investment prospectus’ for a major town centre in the Home Counties to establish a new public-private delivery partnership

We work across the public and private sector, using our expertise to bring the two together to ensure our projects deliver impact and value across a range of metrics that matter to our clients and their places.

We work in partnership with a range of other specialists including urban design, architecture, development consultancy, engineering and sustainability advisors to ensure we provide clients with genuinely integrated and effective advice.
